Jai Shri Krishna,
It is clearly declared here by the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna that
in devotional service there is no distinction between
the lower or higher classes of people. In the material
conception of life, there are such divisions, but for
a person engaged in transcendental devotional service
to the Lord, there are not. Everyone is eligible for
the supreme destination. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam it
is stated that even the lowest, who are called
candalas (dog-eaters), can be elevated by association
with a pure devotee. Therefore devotional service and
guidance of a pure devotee are so strong that there is
no discrimination between the lower and higher classes
of men; anyone can take to it.
The most simple man taking center of the pure devotee can be purified by
proper guidance. According to the different modes of
material nature, men are classified in the mode of
goodness (brahmanas), the mode of passion (ksatriyas,
or administrators), the mixed modes of passion and
ignorance (vaisyas, or merchants), and the mode of
ignorance (sudras, or workers). Those lower than them
are called candalas, and they are born in sinful
families. Generally, those who are born in sinful
families are not accepted by the higher classes. But
the process of devotional service and the pure devotee
of the Supreme God are so strong that all the lower
classes can attain the highest perfection of life.
This is possible only when one takes shelter of Lord Shri Krishna.
After many, many births, when the results of one's pious activities mature, one gets an opportunity to associate with pure devotees. Then one is able to cut the knot of bondage to ignorance, which bound him because of varied fruitive activities. As a result of associating with devotees, one gradually renders service to Lord VAsudeva, who is transcendental, free from attachment to the material world, beyond the mind and words, and independent of everything else.
That bhakti, devotional service to Lord VAsudeva, is the real path of liberation. Since the human form of life is the sublime position for spiritual realization, all the demigods in heaven speak in this way: How wonderful it is for these human beings to have been born as a human which should never be wasted in worldly matters but to the devotional service of the Lord.
They must have executed pious acts of austerity in the past, or the Supreme God Shri Krishna Himself must have been pleased with them in order to elevate them and give them a chance to continue with the devotional service. _________________ Vasant Punjabi.

Jai Shri Krishna
As stated in SB (1.2.19):
tadA rajas-tamO-bhAvAha kAma-lobhAdayashca ye |
ceta etair anAviddham sthitam sattve prasIdati ||
As a result of rajas and tamas, one becomes increasingly lusty and greedy, but when one takes to the process of seva and smaran of Shri Thakurji, one comes to the platform of goodness and becomes happy. As he advances in devotional service, all his doubts are completely eradicated. Sins get wiped out and he advances in serving Shri Krishna. _________________ Vasant Punjabi.
