Jai JAi Shri Gokulesh,

Unnatibhen the vartas are so interesting once you start reading you dont feel like leaving incomplete, so will tell you one about Raja Aaskaran in short and balance two you can read in vartas they have real aloukik bhav.

Raja Aaskaran had very much interest in kirtans and he himself sang so many kirtans. After taking Brahmasamband he used to sing lila bhav kirtans as Thakurji used to give him darshans. He has sung a lot of kirtans take some time and read it they are just lovely.

Once even the thiefs attacked his house to rob him of his valuables and he decided to even give up his dwelling so finally one day he requested prabhu charan for mansi seva so he does not have to deal with thiefs anymore so you saw even in Manasi Shri Thakurji used to accept his seva.

He was a param bhagwadia his faith in Thakurji was firm.

One of his kirtans

Tum podo hu sej bana-o
champo charan raho pati-ter madhure sur kedaro gavoo
sahchari chatur sabe juri Aae dhampati sukh nainan dursao
Aaskaran Prabhu Mohan Nagar Yeh Sukh Shyam Sada hu Pa-u.

Jai Shree Krishna

Unnatiji, I am sure you are not confused nor what you have heard regarding the Gopi word. I have used Gopi or Gopis many a times and when I say that word I feel a profound happiness and feel very spiritual and I also feel that with the name "Shree Krishna". So that, with personal experience one can say that both are really a alokik swaroop that will ever live in my heart.

Unnatiji, Shree Mahaprabhuji encouraged that Prem Bhakti as Pushtimarg is Path Of Grace. So how do we imbibe in Pushtimarg? With love, the love similar to Gopijana Vallabh. If you look at the history of Shree Brahamsambandh, in that sloka, there has been some changes made from original sloka, we see changes were infused by Shree Gokulnathji Prabhu, who added words (in Brahamasambandh every words are called "Pada" so I will call words in Brahamsambandh as Pada),the padas "Shree Gopi Jana Vallabhaye". If a soul were not to recite Gopi word then this pada would not have been put by Shree Gokulnathji for Pushti Jiva to recite.

Well, not only that, but I am also very proud to be Vaishnav. Why? I have many reasons, for this discussion, I will only mention few which are relevant to put my point across.

Vaishnavs have been very fortunate, as Shree Gokulchnadramaji when parted Brahamsambandh sloka to Shree Mahaprabhuji, said I will never leave the soul, once the soul receives the sloke. So in this case the Pushti Jiva have been fortunate to be in that position, so pushti soul is very important.

We have seen in Varta (story) where Vaishnav is taken as equal to or in better position then Brahmins. So we are not as you say "not so good soul". We are proud to be vaishnavs.

Do not under estimate Vaishnavs Bhakti, we do say that with the help and satsang with vaishnavs we will be reaching that Pushti goal and manorath.

Shree Prabhcharan Shree Hariraiji loved vaishnavs so much, he was even locked in a room because he was so much imbibed in Vaishnavs. But he never left his love for vaishnavs and he even made a very imbibing and imortal pada:

Hun Vari ene Vallabhiya par...

This is His feelings towards the Pushti Jiva (soul). So what does all this shows that we are after all selected soul, but as we have lost our roots, Shree Vallabh pointed the way for us to travel, go or use to reach our destination. So I really can't comprehend why we can't say "Gopi"?

Yes we should have humbleness (dinta) but must not consider ourself as nobody. We want to acquire that Pushti fal, that is Shree Thakorji and we carry on till we are ready to see him, meanwhile, we try to work on our soul to better our worthiness for Shree Thakorji.

If you look at the history of how this marg was named as "Pushti Marg", we see Pushti has many different meanings and Shree Mahaprabhuji was intrigued by this and used word Pushti. Pushti has many different meanings. Pushti means "Anugraha - Krupa" (Love and Grace), "Prasnta"(Happines), "santosh"(Contempt), "daya"(to be kind), "kshama"(to forgive) and many more meanings. So When all these qualities are gradual transient of soul, then Vaishnavs cannot be inferior soul. I am proud to be vaishnav.

Last but not Least Shree Krishna said:

Quote:
Samoham sarvabhuteshu na may drushyoti na preyah |
ye Gopiyana bhajanti tu ma bhaktiya mayi te tashu chapiyaham ||

Meaning:
I am true and fair to whole universal living and non living souls, every one I love and there is no difference in degree of my love as I see all of them as equal. But whoever imbibe in my seva (worship me) just like Gopis's bhakti, those Bhakta (souls) are within me and I am in them.

Here the operative word is Gopiyana bhajanti.

I think I have really gone over the board but from all this Unnatiji, I decided to write "gopi" and not svaminiji. I just hope this will clear doubts in anyone's mind. Yes I will say one thing, if we become Bhavik and say that we are not a worthy soul then we should not be saying Gopis, but say svaminji. In that case it is an individual bhava and not Pushti Siddhant.

My appology for lengthy posting.

Jai Jai Shree Gokulesh,

Jai Shree Krishna,

Unnatiji, thank you for kind words, I just hope we all first understand Pushtimarg's sidhant, that is its commandments and just don't build our understanding on Bhava. Shree Mahaprabhuji never set Bhava as main criteria in Pushtimarg. The bhava will automatic fall within the soul as he/she starts doing service (seva) to his seviya swaroop. So really bhava is an idividual thing.

Lets understand the sidhant first and this way we have no misconcept regarding our understanding of Pushtimarg.

I do appologise if I have in anyway hurt your feelings or your bhava, I am really sorry.

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh

Unnatiji, u said that instead of using the word Gopi, should use the Vrajswaminiji. It is not a big issue. As even Gopijanvallabh is the ShriVrajSwaminiji's. And Idea IF we say ShriVraj Swaminijis will be the same bhaav,. So no harm. Even my shrigurucharan says that ShriVrajswaminiji's is the way of explaining the bhaav of nirgun bhakti. So i don't want to hurt any one, but it is just expression.

Jai Shree Krishna

Jai Jai Shree Gokulesh,

Thank you for your input Gopalji, I never said that there was harm in saying Shri Vraj Svaminiji.

But, sidhant is sidhant and when Bhava takes over sidhant which baffles sidhant, then one should really take care in what they do or say.

Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,

Unnatiji this one was long pending

Question:- Name the Bhagwadia who used to offer milk to Shri Thakurji in manasi seva but one day he put extra sugar in it and was going to remove it?

Answer :- Well if you read Naamratnakhiastotram which is 108 names of our Prabhucharan Shri Gusainji specailly number 23 "Sarvakaamadhai Namaha "

meaning "You are the one who fulfills all the desires of His Bhaktas"

In Ahmedabad there was one Vanik Dalal who was a sevak. He was very greedy but also very stingy (miser) He by being miser had accumulated about Rs 99,999.00 falling short by Re 1.00 in being called a lakhapati. As his desire was not only to become one, but also be called a lakhapati.

So when Shri Gusainji visited Ahmedabad Vanik Dalal requested to become His sevak on condition that he will not have to spent any money in Seva.
So Shri Gusainji being Param Dayalu and Kripalu agreed and taught him how to do Manasi Seva. He learnt it quickly and started practising daily.

One day it was a utsav day so he decided to offer Milk as Samagiri but accidently he added too much sugar in the milk and being a miser by nature he tried to remove it with his hands so Shri Thakurji got hold of his hands and told him "Listen you have not spent a dime by adding extra sugar as you are doing Manasi seva so why are you removing the sugar?

This surprised him and immediately he started asking for forgiveness and he realised his mistake and offered all his money in seva.

Henceforth he started doing seva. This way our Prabhucharan Shri Gusainji listens to His Bhaktas and acts accordingly as He knows one day they will automatically do what is right . Like in this case He fulfilled the desire of Vanik Dalal by teaching him Manasi Seva and soon he became a Bhagwadia.

Nice kirtan Laughing

Shri Vallabh-Nandan roop anup swaroop kah-yo ne jai
Prakat Parmanand Gokul basat hai sub Jagat-ko jo sukhdhai
Bhakti Mukti dhet saban-ko nij-jhanko krupa prem burkhat adhikai
Sukhme sukhroop sukhad ek rusna
Kahalo burno Govind bali jai.

Now Unnatiji and Vallabhi vaishnavs who wrote this Naamratna ----strotram?????

Jai jai shri gokulesh

BHAVAS IN BHAKTI

When the devotee grows in devotion there is absolute self-
forgetfulness. This is called Bhava. Bhava establishes a true
relationship between the devotee and the Lord. Bhava then grows
into Maha-Bhava wherein the devotee lives, moves and has his
being in the Lord. This is Parama-Prema, the consummation of
love or Supreme Love.

There are five kinds of Bhava in Bhakti. They are Shanta, Dasya,
Sakhya, Vatsalya and Madhurya Bhavas. These Bhavas or
feelings are natural to human beings and so these are easy to
practice. Practice whichever Bhava suits your temperament.

In Shanta Bhava, the devotee is Shanta or peaceful. He does not
jump and dance. He is not highly emotional. His heart is filled
with love and joy. Bhishma was a Shanta Bhakta.

Dasa-Bhav centres on serving the Lord without question. Main
idea is to serve with love, not servility. Dasa also cultivates
humility, resilience, capacity for hard work and flexibility. These
characteristics are essential for a good devotee as well as a social
worker. The ideal dasa should treat the world as the domain of
his Lord, and hence serve everyone with love and devotion. Dasa
should serve self-lessly, without seeking rewards or recognition.
In recognition of this silent service, the Lord protects his beloved
servants with great care. Hanumanji is the ideal DasaMaharaj.
His loving service was rewarded by Rama with such fond words
as “I am forever indedted to you. You are more dear to me than
all my relatives, you are more precious than my soul.” For a dasa,
such praises are worth more than all the wealth in the universe.

Sri Hanuman was a Dasya Bhakta. He had Dasya Bhava, servant
attitude. He served Lord Rama whole-heartedly. He pleased his
Master in all possible ways. He found joy and bliss in the service
of his Master.

In Sakhya Bhava, God is a friend of the devotee. Arjuna had this
Bhava towards Lord Krishna. The devotee moves with the Lord on
equal terms. Arjuna and Krishna used to sit, eat, talk and walk
together as intimate friends.

Sakhya-Bhava is the cultivation of the friend-sentiment with
God. The inmates of the family of Nandagopa cultivated this
Bhakti. Arjuna cultivated this kind of Bhakti towards Lord
Krishna.

To be always with the Lord, to treat Him as one's own dear
relative or a friend belonging to one's own family, to be in His
company at all times, to love Him as one's own self, is Sakhya-
Bhava of Bhakti-Marga. How do friends, real friends, love in this
world ? What an amount of love they possess between one
another ? Such a love is developed towards God instead of
towards man; physical love turned into spiritual love. There is a
transformation of the mundane into the Eternal.

In Vatsalya Bhava, the devotee looks upon God as his child.
Yasoda had this Bhava with Lord Krishna. There is no fear in this
Bhava, because God is your pet child. The devotee serves, feeds,
and looks upon God as a mother does in the case of her child.

The last is Madhurya Bhava or Kanta Bhava. This is the highest form of Bhakti. The devotee regards the Lord as his Lover. This was the relation between Radha and Krishna.
This is Atma-Samarpana. The lover and the beloved become one. The devotee and God feel one with each other and still maintain a
separateness in order to enjoy the bliss of the play of love
between them. This is oneness in separation and separation in
oneness. Jayadeva, Mira and Andal had this Bhava.

Jai jai shri gokulesh

A Caution:
Madhurya Bhava is absolutely different from
conjugality of earthly experience. One should not be mistaken for
the other. Earthly conjugality is purely selfish and is undertaken
only because it gives pleasure to one's own self. But in love for
God it is because it gives pleasure to God and not for the sake of
the devotee. Divine love is not selfish. It is born of sattva. But
earthly lust is born of rajas and attachment to bodies. Earthly
conjugality is the outcome of egoistic self-regarding egoistic
feeling, while divine communion is the outcome of other-
regarding feeling devoid of egoism. Strong selfishness is the root
of worldly passion; divine love is the product of loss of egoism.
This is the greatest difference between lust (kama) and divine love
(prema). The two are related as darkness is related to light. No
development of earthly affection, however perfect it may be, can
lead one to supreme joy of divine communion. Lust lurks in the
heart due to the passion that burns in the core of things. Divine
love is unknown to the man of the world, however religious he
may be. The secret of divine love cannot be understood, and
should not be tried to be understood, so long as man is only a
man and woman only a woman. The austere transformation of
the human into the divine is the beginning of true love for God.

Jai Jai Shree Gokulesh

This was a lovely and accurate Pushti Bhava and variance of different way to the permutation of Bhava. I loved your posting Unnatiji, well researched article. You seem to have wide knowledge and looks as if you love reading, reflects in your posting. Congratulation, a lovely article.

Although we have Bhava in Path of Grace, we first do have to have sidhant of the path and then love follows and then from love one gets direction to personal innermost feelings that is Bhava, which you have described very well. But, mind there is a very thin line between Bhava and love. For instance, Vatsaliya (motherly) bhava and Motherly love (Vatsaliya Prem). One has to take care in these two different feelings and when there is a thin line between both the feelings it is important that most of the Bhava is kept secret (gupta).

Once Bhava has taken the prominence in seva Marg, then sidhant will deffinately go out of window, nothing matters, but that bhava is catered for individual feelings and it should not be imposed on everyone as every vaishnav has individual feelings, hence, the bhava. We talked about Vraj-Svaminijis, and word gopis. That is ones individual bhava and should remain that way. In general we shy away to declare our bhava, and it would look awkward to say "Vraj-Svaminijis Geet" instead "Gopi Geet".

The above article truly describes the bhava and Unnatiji has made it very clear about Madhuri ya Bhava and the warning is very appropriate in that case. Thanks again for such a beautiful article.
