Jai Shree Krishna
Thanks Jagdishbhai, good timing as well, I only found the kirtan this afternoon from my collection and was about to post it and saw your posting. I am very glad and also quietly kicking my self for not reacting quickly to vaishnavs request. I am glad we have vaishnavs who really helps when needed. Thanks a lot.
First of all my humble apology to Bhavinbhai for not coming up with your request sooner. Anyway, it is better late then never.
O.k, here is my humble my attempt:
Mara ghat ma birajta
Shrinathji Yamunaji Mahaprabhuji
Mara= my, Ghat=heart, ma=in, birajta=resides
Shrinathji, Yamnaji and Mahaprabhuji resides in my heart.
Maru mandu chhe Gokul Vanara van
Mara tan na aanganiya ma Tulsi na van
Mara praan jivan - mara ghat ma
Maru=Mine or My, mandu=desire (of heart), chhe= is, Gokul=name of town, Vanra= name of forest, van=forest.
Mara= mine (my) ,tan = body, na=of, aaganiyama=courtyard, ma=in,Tulsi= the plant of Tulsiji, na= of, van=forest
pran jivan = life line,
My heart desires Gokul and Vanravan forest,
I have forest full of Tulsiji in the courtyard of my body
O my life line....
Mara aatam na aangane Shri Mahaprabhuji
Mari aankho dise Girdhari re dhari
Maru tanman thayu jene vari re re vari
Mara Shyam Murari - mara ghat ma
Mara aatam= my soul, aagne = court yard
Mari ankhi= my eyes, dise=sees, Giridhari re dhari= Krishna who raised mount Grirajji, (Giri=Giriraj mountain,Dhari=balance on his hands and raisefd over his head),
Maru tanman=my body and soul, jene=whom, thayu = became, vari re vari=to adore, Shyam=Dark, Murari= the one who defeated demon whose name is Mur (Shree Krishna).
Shree Mahaprabhuji cuminates or resides in the court yard of my soul,
and I always see Shree Giridahari, my soul and the body is imbibing in adorancre of my Shyam Murari..
Mara praan thaki mane vaishnav vhala
Nitya karta Shrinathji ne kaala re vaala
Mein to Vallabh prabhuji na kidha chhe darshan
Maru mohi lidhu man - mara ghat ma
Mara Praan= my life, thaki= more than, mane=me, ahala=adorable
Nitya=always, Karta=do (doing), kaala re vaala = renunciation and rhapsodize (speak or write with extravagant enthusiasm)
Maru=my(mine), mohi=to capture, lidhu = take, maan=mind (heart).
I adore Vaishnavs (Krishna Bhakta) more than my life,
(these are the vaishnavs) who always indulge in Krishna with renunciation and rhapsodize,
This has (grossly) enticed and captured my heart... _________________ Dasa nu das

Jai Shree Krishna
It is a lovely Kirtan and it also becomes sweeter once the bhava in the kirtan is disclosed in its entirety. I am glad you liked it Palnaji. Thanks for lovely appreciative words. Thanks. _________________ Dasa nu das

Jai Shri Krishna,
Thankyou very much for your translation. I feel much better now knowing what the song actually mean. This is great for youths, who does not understand some bhajans and kirtan.
thankyou

Jai Shree Krishna
Thank you Bhavikji for kind words. This is will surpriseyou that I received quite few emails from adults who have been in Pushti-seva for more than 25 years and when reading these emails I was taken back that many of these lovely vaishnavs did not understand complete kirtan and its meaning.
It also transpired that they could sing Ashta Sakhas (Surdasji, Kumbhandasji etc.) kirtan but have no clues of its real meaning, not only that, but did not have any inclination of ragas and when to sing which kirtan and in which season and time of the day.
We have system in Pushtimarg and this systems of Kirtan and Padas are set per whole day Kriyapadi-seva and then we have kirtan per seasons and per utsava. _________________ Dasa nu das

Jai Shri Krishna,
Pushtidasji your style is just excellent which really encourages the vaishnavs to join in.
Here one more small kirtan and this one even Trushna, Sitalji, Unnatiji etc and all other vaishnavs should be able to get it including Palnaji with little extra effort I would say
AISI DULHANI BHAVE
Meaning This is the type of Wife Our nutkhat Kanha wants.
Now vaishnavs please describe HIS request !!!!
Maiya mohi aisi dulhani bhave ;
Jaise ye kahuki dithoniya runak-jhunak ghar ave. (1)
Karikari pak rasal rasoi, apne kar le mohi jimave ;
Kari anchal pat ot babako, thadi byar dhurave. --- (2)
Will do the balance shloks nextime and also can anyone tell who sang this kirtan? _________________ Vasant Punjabi.

Jai Shree Krishna,
Please bare with me, my Gujarati is terrible so Hindi and sanskrit is basically minimal, but im just going to pick out the words i do understand and hope they make sense.
ok...
Dulhani bhave....dulhan is a bride to be, so her bhav??
Jaise.. she'll go
runak-jhunak ghar ave...is runak-jhunak the sounds of her anklets? Ghar ave.. means she comes home
rasoi..food, the cooking
jimave..she feeds
thadi..plate of asorted indian food?
dhurave..to give to Thakorji
ooooo im sorry if this is WAY off!! (i hope it isnt because that means my Gujarati is alot worse than i thought )

Jai Shri Krishna,
Ok Palnaji you did good and would appreciate if all atleast try.
Let me say it in story form
This kirtan was sung by no other then Parmanand Dasji
Shri Krishna is telling her mother (Maiya), (Mohi=my) Yashodama!
Maiya, (Mother) do you know what sort of wife I want?
(Yahodama is surprised and says No and also knowing He is so young))
Krishna says bring me a wife who will not go to any one's house,
She should be the most beautiful one, No one has ever seen anyone like her. Specially she should come merrily musically to our house only.
Well how I am doing? Sitalji?
Lets try the second one Kavitaji, Palnaji ok.
Shri Krishna Speaks again
She should be able to cook variety of delicious foods everyday and that is not enough.
She should also make me eat, by putting a full morsel in my mouth. Also if I am eating with bava, she should keep her face covered with gunghat and stand closeby.
Also she must fan us while she stands.
Is this possible Trushaji? Trushnaji? Unnatiji?
Wow !we have to wait now to see what other qualities our Nutkhat Kana will request. _________________ Sunita Punjabi

Jai Shree Krishna
Well done Sunitaji, a very good explanation.
But you forgot to mention the "Baba" bit in the Kirtan, if I may, can try it and add this?
Kari pak rasal rasoi, apne kar le mohi jimave ;
Kari anchal pat ot babako, thadi byar dhurave. --- (2)
In the last sentence, in the second stanza...
Kari anchal pat: that is to cover her face in Ghunghat (this is a tradition in our culture, that women folks cover their face in front of elders, father figure in the house hold). Here Shree Krishna is painting the picture of an ardent wife, a daughter in law, who has such up bringing that she should have proper manner in the family environment.
ot babako: when Bahu (sister-in-law) faces (ot) Baba (Nandbaba, Krishna's father).
thadi byar dharave..: thadi is a plate full of all the items cooked for that time of the meal. Byar is a very old word from Sanskrit and then sipped into Vrajbani (Vraj language) meaning afternoon. In normal tradition the daughter in law looks after sasraji (father in law) during lunch (byar) and then sasuji (mother-in-law) does viyaru (evening meal, dinner), so this way mother in law also gets time on her own with her husband and Vahu gets time as well to talk to her husband. Quite thoughtful isn't it?
So this is what the stanza explains of the household chores in that era. Quite an insight. I have also seen in many pustak (book) the last sentence printed as "pyar" instead of "byar", could be a typo error or someone has not understood the proper meaning of byar and thought it is a typo error and so replaced it with pyar. But mind you it does rhymes, but changes the whole meaning. Stick to original verse.
I am so sorry Sunita ji, I have taken your thunder of explanation.
Please add the next stanza Vasantbhai. _________________ Dasa nu das

Jai Shri Krishna,
Nice translation by Sunitaji and Pushtidasji very well done.
Lets continue
Mohi uthal god baithare, kari manuhar manave!
Aho mere lal kaho babason, tero bhay karave (3)
Nandrai Nandrani hilmil, sukh samudra badhave!
"Parmanand" prabhuki baten sun, anand ur ne samave (4).
Nice kirtan by Parmananddasji. So what are Shri Krishna's other requests? _________________ Vasant Punjabi.
