Jai Shri Krishna,

Bhai, from my limited understanding, one tends to apply kasturi like applying kumkum, mix with water as per requirements, etc, but may also mix with chandan, etc.. depending on the various bhaavs that go with the tilaks. I am not 100% sure on this but would request others to help clarify or add to this flow.

- The same kasturi is mentioned in Shri Gusainji's dhyaan
"... Mrga-mada tilakam, Vitthalesham Sukesham"

JAY SHRI KRISHNA.
Jagdishbhai,Your answer fits the same with me." KASHTURI TILKAM"
IT may be consider as KASHTURI mixed as you said with Chandan or kumkum.

As we were on the subject... Shri Gopeshwarji explains the bhaav of Kasturi Tilak that Shri Thakorji adorns as follows:

The colour of Kasturi is Shyam, and inside there is Arunta. Shyam-varn is Shri yamunaji, thus it is with Shri Yamunaji's bhaav that shri Thakorji accepts Kasturi Tilak.

Shri Yamunaji cannot stay without Shri Thakorji even for a second, there is continuous-constant relationship between both and they are not separate from each other. In a Pad it is said: "Krishna-Tan Baran Gun Dharma Shri Krishna-ke, Krishna Lila-mayi Krishna Sukh-Kandani." Thus being very much beloved of Shri Thakorji, Shri Prabhu has bestowed Shri Yamunaji with the Asht-Vidh (8 types of) Aishvarya.

When Shri Yamunaji bestows compassion on devotees, she grants them these Asht-Vid Aishvarya, through these the devotee attains the divine good fortune and capacity of benefiting from Shri Purna-Purshottam Thakorji's Lila-Ras-amrut.

Seeing such compassionate nature of Shri Yamunaji, all Vraj-bhaktas have taken shelter of her. Without Shri Yamunaji's krupa it is not possible to obtain these Asht-Vidh Aishvarya, these are given below:

- Seva-upyogi deh ni prapti
- Lila-dhaam ni alokik lila na darshan
- Prabhuna rasatmak swaroopno anubhav
- Sarvatma bhaavni prapti.

The above four Aishvarya are Sanyog-Atmak. Now Viprayog-Atmak divine Aishvaryas are given below:

- Antah-Karan ma pragat Bhagvad-lilana sakshat darshan.
- Bhav-Atmak Bhagvad swaroopma tanmayta.
- Viprayog-Atmak Bhaav samaye prabhuma Tanmayta
- Bahaar Bhagad swaroopthi nirpeksh thayi ne antarma swaroop-atmak bhaav no anubhav.
