Jai Jai ShriGokulesh,

In pushtimarg, main is our seva. Seva of ShriThakurji. SO mukhya kartavya of a jev is seva. But In due aagrah-of seva, should we not respect our parents?

In the Ekadash Skandh of Shrimad Bhagwat Bhagwan ShriGokulesh gave aagya that those Purush who does not do the Bharan-poshan, respect HIS parents in their old age, Does not serve them, does not respect wife, children, has no right to be called as a Purush......

Now in Pushtimarg, 1 prasang comes that When there is obstacles in seva of shriprabhu, may be own parents, wife, childrens, Firstly should do start serving shrithakurji by own. If still relatives shows the udasin bhaav, and makes obstacles in your own doing seva, then leave the house.....

So how will we co-relate the both prasangs, from Shrimad Bhagwat, and Pushtimarg.

It is the orders of Lord ShriGokulesh, to also serve parents, respect wife, and blessings for childrens and youngers. What to do here?

in one way, the vachans of ShriGokulesh in Shrimad Bhagwatji, that it comes to be a prime duty to obey, follow, serve parents, apne gurujan, matru-pitru ki seva-sushrusha karni, apni bharya ko atisanmaan dena, evan apne anuj ke saath dainya vyavhar rakhna.

But it so happens that in the jadta of our follwing pusthimarg, we say that these relations are of no use. When our shrigurucharan gave us diksha, nothing to be bothered for family, parents, wife, childrens, and other younges. And we don't respect them. How much is this rational?

Jai Jai ShriGokulesh

According to Karma no Siddhant, The Deh-Dharm also has to be followed with our Swa-dharm.

Why shall we not follow our Deh-dharma, because the reltion with this deh is our parents, one one's spouse, child, etc. shall we leave?

Parents are in trouble, But we don't go there, why, our tunning is not setting with our parents. Child is not following our own orders. Wife expectations from us is different, and we expect something else. So somewhere it troubles the stable family life. Then what to do? shall we leave them according to the orders of ShriMahaprabhuji? or we should try to make them unite, try to understand them? and make them understand our feelings?

Shrimad Bhagwat is the Ripen fruit of Shrimad Bhagwat. And vachans from Shrimad Bhagwat is to be honoured. Because it is Vachans of Lord ShriGokulesh.

Also here Shrimahaprabhuji in pushtimarg in a granth gives, aagya, if such relations creates obstacles in our saadhna pranali, then tyajet!.....do tyag..............

How much is this possible?

Jai Shree Krishna & Jai Jai Shree Gokulesh

Gopalji I find this to be a very complicated issue, I thought our foremost duty was to do Krishna Seva and not hurt another soul? If you leave your relations then are you not causing them a great deal of pain?

jai jai shrigokulesh

exactly sheetalji. What u said is 100% truth. that we should not deal the pain. But indirectly, we forget that our family members are also Vaishnavas, and as we know the av-guns of our family members, we sometimes quarrel, shout, get angry.

But we forget here that they are also vaishnavas. And ShriGokulesh Prabhu, and ShriHariraicharan, and other Balaks, also gave aagya that should respect vaishnava. Have dinta bhaav.

I had kept this topic due to this reason only. That we should understand the importance of family, and how to utilize the family members in ShriGOKULESH SEVA, is required.

Jai Shri Krishna/Jai Jai Shri Gokulesh,

This is a very interesting discussion/satsang.

I have some thoughts which are being presented here. Please feel free to clarify aandd correct any misunderstandings.

In a number of places we come across the statements which explicitly say something like... one should disassociate/denounce/disown anyone who presents an obstacle in one's seva/bhakti, etc.. We also see examples of a numberr of the 84/252. etc vaishnavs who did just that, they left their parents, etc. and we find further illustrations in many of the jeevan shiksha and other Pads, "Tyajo/Tyago man Hari Vimukhana ko sang"

and "... bhakti karshe ne pkahand dharshe, te athdaata marshe re... Madhavdas to etlu maange... Teno sang na kariye re" ...

-- no where in any of the above does it say whether one should differentiate between our family members and other people...

-- Of course, it is a different matter if those people _ARE_ vaishnavs and have taken Bhramsambandh etc.... and are following in the footsteps of vaishnavs (following the siddhants etc..etc)

-- They all illustrate that Our duty towards our Shri Thakorji and Shri Gurucharan etc comes first and foremost and is of the highest priority... and our laukik sambandhs take a lower priority.

Whether it is all practical in this day and age is difficult to tell...
- Food for thought -

Jai Shri Krishna

As mentioned, by Sitalji, it is a very complicated issue.

One of the qualities of Vaishnav is love and kindness towards all living beings. Family members, Vaishnav or not, are humans too and as a Vaishnav it is our duty to look after them. In the story of Vitthaldas Kayastha (Shri Gusaiji’s sevak), he is punished by another Vaishnav, Narayandas owing to payment failure. Vitthaldas had not disclosed his religion to Narayandas. Later, when Shri Gusaiji came there, both went for his darshan. When Shri Gusaiji found out about the punishment he told to Narayndas "You did not know that he was a Vaishnav. But did you not know that he was a living being? Vaishnavs should not be cruel to any living being."

The other thought that crosses my mind is that it may also depend on to the level we have attained in our attachment to Shri Thakorji. We may be correct in doing the tyag in vyasan dasha if the family is a hindrance. But are we at that point yet? If we do not perform our duties to the family in the name of seva but still are attached to world and do other worldly things, then our actions are completely wrong and cannot be justified.

I am merely a starter on this path and have written only based on my readings. Please correct my views if they are not in line with our path.

jai shri vallabh. i found this topic very interesting n wld like to add some thoughts. The main problem is, if we think practically its impossible to leave our family. And we cant even copromise in prabhus matter. So how to make a perfect balance between laukik n alaukik. Lets understand with an example. We see an ant climbs on sugar n also on jagree. But when it climbs on sugar it can easily come back down again. But once it climbs on jagree it dies FOR SURE as its legs are struck in it. Even if o

.....one tries to remove it frm jagree even then it will die. Similarly its upon us that how we keep sansar. Like jagree or like sugar. We should keep sansar like sugar. shd clinb whn necessary and come down immediately.... Hope this made some sense. Its also explained wonderfully in tika of shri sarvottam stotra by shri Hariraiji (think so) by giving example of lotus, under the name 'Bhakti-marg-abja-martanda. if anyone would like to add abt it..... n also plz feel free for any corrections.

Jai shri krushna... i think i shd be more clear.... this dosent mean that where we see our swarth at that time shd become laukik (climb) n then come down. But wht i ment to say was.... as mentioned above, as one havent yet reached the stage of leaving sansar, one should fulfill laukik responsibilities n duties n keep moving up n down ( as an ant moves on sugar ). But still i think more importance should be given to alaukik. This cld be also applicable to duties excluding family..
