Next utsav on coming nov 9th 2005 Wednesday is Gopashtami so please let us all get together discuss its related topics

On this day lord Sri Krishna became a qualified cowherd. Before this day, he was a keeper of the calves. On this day the gosalas are cleaned by all the devotees, and the cows are worshiped and offered nice prasada.

Sunitaji you sing well, I am sure you must have sung a love song to Vasantji when he came to seek your hand. Lovely kirtan.

Pushtidasji, you talked about Gopashtami last year in satsang and the description of first day of Gopashtami was wonderful. Hope if you could talk about that complete deenchariya here? Please?

Do not forget to serve your shree.... with Chadi (STICK) today. Today is an inaugurance of Shree Krishna and He is officially encouraged to go and look after cows and from today He is in charge and He is also to supervise the grazing in forest.

Who brought Chaadi (The stick) for Krushna on Gop-Astami? Was is of wood, Gold or silver?

Jai Shree Krushna,

Thakorji's Chaadi was made in Barsana by a lovely wood carver appointed by Vrushbhanji who bestowed him the job of creating the most beautiful and wonderful chaadi which was the first to be given to Krushna for Gop-Astami. Vrushbanji who was Radhaji's Father and was also a very close friend of Nand Baba, hence they often call Radhaji Vrushbhan-dulhari (dulhari=daughter), this chaadi had a special head that was depicting Surbi Gai, the rest of the stick had drawings of Brahman (universe) on it and at the end of the stick was a cow hoof.

Thakorji never took this stick with him for Gau Charun because it was too decorative for practical purposes, so it remained an ornamental piece in his bedroom.

For Cow hearding purposes he used a normal stick whichhe borrowed form his father.
