Most of the Vaishnavs are busy doin Phool Bangal before Rath Yatra! So I don't think it is month before.

Pushtidasji, how can one do shringar on the horse one month prior, by the time of Utsava, all the sajavat and shringar would have become old or spoilt or soiled. So hum ko mama mat banaye, we won't buy this.

Not many Utsava requires such long preparation time and I think in Rath Yatra we only need one day preparation so I am going to vote that !!!

Hey , Tofaani Team, I am back and you know I am always right so follow my instinct. heheehe Palna, heed me advise baby.

Jai jai shri gokulesh

I am not sure but it is one month prior i.e. from Akshay Trutiya they start making rath.

Also i have heard that the wood which is used for making rath is been used later on for making samagri's to lord by burning those woods. This wood is enough for the whole year.

JSK

Inaxiji, I agree - I don't think that it can be done in such advance but I am inclined to go beyond the timescale u have given and say 'on the day'?

Jai Shree Krishna

I think the preparation to make and decorate the Rath starts month before and the sajavat and shringar of horses are done on the day.

Jai Shree krishna,
Pushtidasji, in reference to your question you stated

Quote:

The question only refers to when the Chariot was being decorated and not asking when preparations for Rath Yatra Utsav actually start. Meaning all the carpentry work would aldready be done..... so again I will say the decoration of the Chariot was done a day before, but I am so curious as to the actual answer???? We wait patiently. Very Happy

Jai Shree Krishna

Well done Palnaji, that was exactly I asked. The Rath takes a month to be prepared but the sajjavat of the Rath is on the DAY BEFORE.

It was a simple question but every one was baffled. Well done everyone who has answered as "Rath Yatra is decorated a day before Utsava". That is the correct answer. Sorry about other 74 readers (80 hits less 6 posters) who did not even bother to take part in this Poll. I sometimes wonder why there are so many silent readers? I thought Vaishnavs are like lions, boldly try to indulge in satsang ! I still have faith in Pushtimargiya Vaishnavs.

I have a dream, that one day many will partake in the satsang and there will be less silent readers.
